Welcome to Restaurante Otaola, a cherished gem tucked away on C. San Salvador in the vibrant heart of Seville, Spain. This Spanish culinary haven offers a delightful escape from the bustling center, inviting you to savor authentic flavors that resonate with the true spirit of Andalusia. Easily accessible by a leisurely stroll, Otaola is more than just a restaurant; it is a cherished gathering place where locals and visitors alike come together to indulge in extraordinary dishes.
One of the highlights of Restaurante Otaola is its renowned paella, celebrated by patrons as some of the best in Seville. From the moment you take your first bite, the rich, smoky flavors of the perfectly cooked rice mingle with an abundance of fresh seafood or succulent chicken and vegetables, depending on your choice. Jewel Tucker raves about the chicken and vegetable paella, noting it as the best she and her husband have ever tasted—a testament to Otaola’s commitment to culinary excellence.
The ambiance at Otaola is warm and inviting, nestled within a quaint market hall filled with vibrant energy and friendly locals. The service is exceptional, with staff dedicated to ensuring every guest feels welcomed and satisfied. As Tanika Evans recounts, even without a reservation, dining at the bar was a delightful experience filled with friendly banter and exquisite flavors. The tasting journey here does not stop at paella; the appetizers, from fried calamar to the highly recommended *ensaladilla*, capture the essence of Spanish tapas, making them a worthy addition to your meal.
Timing is key at Otaola; with service beginning at 1:30 PM and extending until 4:45 PM, planning your visit is essential. This lunch-only venue may seem basic in its decor, but its charm lies in the focus on culinary artistry rather than extravagance. As Ghaith Ibrahim puts it, “come hungry, it’s worth it,” and indeed, each dish is crafted to leave you both satisfied and wanting more.
As you explore Otaola's offerings, indulge in a glass of red wine or a house-flavored sweet wine, completing your meal on a high note. A dining experience at Restaurante Otaola is not just about food; it’s about creating memorable moments amidst the lively local atmosphere of Seville. Come for the paella, stay for the experience, and leave with a heart full of joy and a belly full of warmth.

Hidden Gem! We walked here after visiting Plaza de España, and feasted on the most delicious paella ever! My husband has a shellfish allergy, so we chose the chicken and vegetable paella. It was the BEST we've ever had. Local residents, families come to eat here and you can feel the warmth of this community in their smiles, and taste it in their food. We showed up at the posted opening time of 11:30am, and learned that this is just when the kitchen opens for the day. They actually start serving customers at 1:30pm, and I strongly recommend making a reservation.

Probably the best paella in Seville. Enough said. Place is part of a quieter part of town, 30 minutes walk from the central area, it's in a small shared marketplace with other shops so you need to keep a eye out for it. It's a little basic in its setting, but all you really need is the good food. We ordered a few appitizers and a seafood paella, come hungry it's worth it. Place is open from 1:30- 4:45, so plan your day ahead.

We had an amazing time at Otaola. We had fried calamar, seafood paella, a lovely read wine and ended on a liqueur. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was outstanding. We didn't have a reservation so we ate at the bar. However that wasn't a problem for us. Planning on going again before we leave.

Exceptional paella in elegant market hall with great service. Open for lunch only. Order paella for 2 from long list with helpful suggestions in English from the waiter & it is cooked for you. Linen tablecloths beneath palm trees inside an old market hall. No room for dessert but the sweet wine on the house was flavoured like prunes & really lovely. Thank you for a memorable meal!
